NARVA History

2024

Ultinon Motion is licensed to use the NARVA brand for its automotive lighting product portfolio.

2021 – 2022

A new brand platform and identity were created to update and preserve the company’s legacy.

2015

Lumileds became an independent automotive-lighting company from the Philips Group and acquired exclusive rights to the NARVA brand for automotive lighting products.

2006

Production of H7 halogen headlight bulbs in hard glass began.

1994 - 1999

In the United States, NARVA marketed HB3/HB4 halogen lamps tailored to American market requirements. The HB5 halogen lamps were also launched.

1991
The company was registered as NARVA Glühlampenwerk Plauen GmbH.

1987
Production of miniature halogen bulbs in hard glass began.

1978 - 1982 
Hard glass technology was introduced and used for the production of H4 bulbs.

1974
Production of the first quartz-glass H4 halogen bulbs began.

1969
Production of the first halogen light bulbs began.

1957
The brand name NARVA was created, derived from key materials and processes used in lamp production: Nitrogen (N), Argon (AR), and Vacuum (VA).

1948
The company was founded in Germany with the construction of a factory for the production of lighting systems.
